The Federation of Hong Kong Industries (FHKI) has been organizing the annual Young Industrialist Awards of Hongkong since 1988. The award aims to honor industrialists who have outstanding achievements in the manufacturing sector. Winners of this award provide inspiration and encouragement, and motivate young people to contribute their expertise to the industry.
The FHKI is keen to acknowledge those individuals who have contributed to Hong Kong’s success through their hard work, vision, perseverance, determination and prompt response to changing market conditions.
To adopt changing market conditions, manufacturers need to utilize high value-added production and technology-intensive manufacturing to stay competitive. Awardees of the recent years have recognised the need and led the way, introducing innovative technology-driven solutions into their companies.
An important factor in the success of the Young Industrialist Awards of Hongkong has been the rigorous and thorough judging process. Each year the FHKI invites senior Government officials, experienced industrialists and leading academics to participate in the judging panel. The panel interviews candidates in person, and assesses their achievements and contributions to industry and society to ensure the awards are conferred to the best candidates.
A total of 128 industrialists have been honoured from 1988 to 2004.
